Cont'd Chapter 1

He backed into the corner of the cage again and sat in a fetal position and started shivering. He started sobbing from fear and frustration; his heart started beating as if there was a demon in his chest that wanted to jump out of his body and eat him alive.

For some strange reason, he screamed, “There's a demon trying to eat me alive! Someone... help me!”; when he screamed, it felt like his throat was tearing apart.

He could feel himself getting closer to the location.

A loud sound from the metals banging each other scared him, making him twitch and gasp as he looked up. When he looked up, he started to see the ceiling opening, and Min started to get blinded from the bright light. He quickly looked away, then covered his face with both hands.

He heard male voices which made fear take over his body.

“Hey, what's your name?”

“You smell like a dude's locker room.”

“It looks like a piece of dirt.”

“Aye, be nice to the lil' newbie.”

Min was so confused and started to panic again. The voices he heard sounded foreign yet so familiar. He slowly turned around to see. He squinted his eyes and tried to adjust to the bright light. He fell back and panicked when he saw a group of twenty- three boys that seemed like they were his age.

Slowly, like a camera focusing, he could finally see their faces clearly. Since they were only young teenage boys, he started to feel less scared, which made it calm his racing heart.

A heavily muscled Australian kid jumped into the cage and grabbed Min by his clothes and threw him out of the cage. Then the Australian kid said something that made him gape his mouth, “I'm Ray, and welcome to 'The Unknown Trials'.”

The Unknown Trials- Chapter 1

Chapter 1

It was the beginning of a new world for Min Park.
He woke up surrounded by the cold darkness and filthy air. All he could smell was his own sweat on his forehead from fear, and metal from the cage.
A staggering shudder shook the floor underneath him, and before he knew it, he felt himself going up like an elevator. He started shuffling on his hands until the back of his head was hit against the metal cage. He stood up, but then kept falling back down because of the metal cage jerking upward like an old elevator in an old, abandoned building.
There were loud echoes from the metal chains and pulleys that sounded like an old factory. He started to feel so much pain in his ears from the echoes and harsh, shrill cries from the metal.
The weightless cage started jerking up and down, but at the same time swaying left and right, making Min's stomach feel sour; suddenly, a smell like body odor made him feel like throwing up. Because of all the pain and frustration, he started sobbing with tears falling down his face like a waterfall.
“My name is Min... Min Park... I think,” he said to himself, “And I'm going to 'The Unknown Trials' whatever that means.”
He didn't understand how this was possible. He suddenly woke up in a metal cage with almost no memory. He only remembered what he said before he went into the cage which was his full name and where he was going, but he didn't know what 'The Unknown Trials' meant.
He started to picture the location with nice, sunny weather, a green grassy meadow, eating organic foods, and going into a clean, sophisticated building with people wearing white lab coats while creating things that would be useful for businessmen and women.
Minutes felt like hours, however, every time a minutes passed, it felt like a decade. Trusting his own instincts, he knew that he was moving for at least twenty five minutes. He was dying from boredom and his forehead and chest was beaded with sweat from fear despite the cool air. Suddenly, he started to panic, then it alternated to intense curiosity. He was so desperate to know what was happening to him.
